KPHL FS9 Texture Resizer

Post by ianj-d32 » Tue Sep 21, 2010 6:01 pm

If you are having stuttering problems related to texture loading:

Here's a batch file to resize all 1024x1024 texture sheets to 512x512 thereby reducing the texture load by 4.
The trade-off is, obviously, lower resolution - but for those with stuttering problems this could be a solution.

Just unzip the contents into the KPHL texture folder and click on kphl_texture_resize.bat and it will take care of the rest.

***as a note the other resizer I posted resized ALL textures to 512x512 not just the 1024x1024 sheets***
My best solution to this is to rerun the installer and then run this batch file.  Sorry for those who used the old resizer - my fault for not testing it first.

Thanks!
Ian

Is it supposed to save them as TGA files??  That's what it's doing :P

I am having issues with feeling like my FPS is lower than it should for this scenery.  I run many add-ons and lots of ai traffic with no real blip in my FPS.  Would resizing my textures with the resizer tool help with this issue.  I know it talks about with flickering or stuttering which I am not having an issue with.  Any info or help would be great.  And thanks again for this amazing scenery and best of all its freeware, just simply amazing.

Thanks Guys for any help

Troy

I too have major drop in frames with this scenery and I have lots of fly tampa scenery and other scenery that seem to keep my frames farily high.  I get single digit frames with this location.

Can you please re-post the link for the texture resizer?  It seems to be broken.

Thanks :)
